As per ICAO standards (Annex 1 & Annex 8) followed by all 193 UN member countries, and under India's Aircraft Act, 1934, Aircraft Rules, 1937, and CAR-66, no aircraft can be released for flight without a licensed AME signing the Certificate of Release to Service (CRS). Every flight, every passenger, and every aircraft depends on an AME's approval before take-off.

While the AME licence grants legal certification authority, a BSc Aviation degree strengthens academic grounding, expands career options, and supports progression into management, safety, quality, and regulatory roles. Important Note: Even if you hold an M.Tech or Ph.D. in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, you cannot certify an aircraft unless you complete the AME curriculum prescribed under CAR 66 and obtain an official AME license. This makes AME a highly specialized, legally recognized, and globally respected profession - where your skills directly impact aviation safety.
